The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, GIET University, Gunupur, is organizing the AICTE sponsored International Conference on Recent Trends in IoT and Blockchain (ICRTIB-2019) during 19th to 20th of October, 2019. The two-day international conference is set to provide a forum for researchers and industrialists to share recent research results on the convergence of Blockchain and IoT, ranging from overviews, proof-of-concepts case studies, to applications, e.g. smart home, smart cities, smart grid, e-health, logistics etc. Moreover, research on other aspects inherently present in Blockchain based systems, like smart contracts, threat and attack models, and incentive mechanisms are also invited in the conference. It will also provide a platform to students, scientists, faculty members and research professionals to interact, present and get reflections on their work.

The Internet of things (IoT) has been connecting extraordinarily large number of devices to the Internet. Handling the massive amount of data generated by these devices in efficient, secure and economic ways is an essential research question. Current solutions are mostly based on cloud computing infrastructures, which necessitate high-end servers and high-speed networks to provide services related to storage and computation.

Blockchain is a peer-to-peer (P2P) distributed ledger technology for establishing trust and consensus in trustless networks; it was proposed in 2009 as the fundamental technology of crypto-currency Bitcoin. Since then, Blockchain has attracted much attention from both industry and academia, and has been identified as one of the most promising technologies to support the future digital society. An innovative consensus mechanism based on digital signature and hash algorithm is adopted to reach the agreement among individual users in blockchain network without the involvement of any third party. Thanks to this, Blockchain has been widely considered as one of the best decentralized and trustless systems to secure transactions.

Authors are solicited to contribute to the conference by submitting articles that illustrate research results, projects, surveying works and industrial experiences that describe significant advances in the areas of IoT and Blockchain. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Paper Submission

Authors are invited to submit papers through the conference EasyChair submission site

(https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=icrtib2019) in PDF format by August 10, 2019.

The conference proceeding will be published in a proceeding named as “International Conference on Recent Trends in IoT and Blockchains” in Apple Academic Press (Apple Academic Press is partnered with CRC Press, a member of the Taylor & Francis Group, for marketing and distribution worldwide) and the extended version of the selected articles will be submitted in two edited books :

  • 1. “Handbook of IoT and Blockchain : Methods, Solutions, and Recent Advancements” CRC Press
  • 2. “Semantic IOT: Theory and Applications - Interoperability, Provenance and Beyond”, Springer
  • 3. “Security and privacy issues in IoT devices and sensor networks: Machine learning to the rescue”, Elsevier


  • o     Paper content must be original and relevant to one of the many conference topics.
  • o     The papers must be written in English, maximum upto 08 pages (including figures and references)..
  • o     AAP’s preferred reference style should author name and date (example: Jones, 2017).
  • o     Use Times New Roman 11 point font with 1.5 spacing for preparing their manuscript.
  • o     All text, figures, equations, and images should be in open format, as we may need to perform enhancements on them. At least 300 dpi
  • o     Authors are required to ensure the accuracy of quotations, citations, diagrams, maps, and tables..
Plagiarism Policy

The paper prior to submission should be checked for plagiarism from licensed plagiarism software like Turnitin / iAuthenticate etc. The similarity content should not exceed 20% and not more than 4% from any single source (in any case either self contents or others). Further, the following ethical guidelines for publication should be strictly prohibited.

  • • Any form of self-plagiarism or plagiarism from others' work(s) should not be there in an article. If any model / concept / figure / table / data / conclusive comment by any previously published work is used in the submitted article, should be properly cited
  • • In case, any copyrighted material is used, prior permission from the copyright holder should be acquired.

  • Important Dates
